Head Chef


We are hiring an enthusiastic and experienced Head Chef to join our upcoming hotel in Cricklewood, London. Someone who is passionate about food and has an eye for fine details with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience of working in a 4-star Hotel is essential as the hotel has multiple outlets ranging from Breakfast Afternoon Tea, Bar & Restaurant food to Weddings and Events.

The ideal candidate must have a sound knowledge of HACCP and COSSH. Ideally, you will be just as versed at ensuring kitchen standards are always at their highest as you are at delivering savoury dishes. As far as your team is concerned you will be a leader, someone who the team looks up to, a mentor and a guiding system when required.

Position Title: Head Chef

Reports To: Group Director – F&B
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the Kitchen and all service deliverance
  • Organise staff when they arrive in the mornings allocating jobs that need to be done before the opening of the restaurant.
  • Implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control as well as monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against the agreed budgets
  • Filling in daily temperature and weekly cleaning sheets correctly including digital systems
  • Lead from the front and by example always and adapt quickly to differing business needs
  • Coach and be a mentor for team members
  • Ensure all food outlets are delivering high standards, always
  • Ensure that the ordering and stock management processes are in place
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure full functionality of the kitchen
  • Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned and maintained in accordance with hygiene regulations and house standards


  • Being competent in all aspects of kitchen preparation
  • NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery
  • NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality and Catering
  • Level 3 food hygiene including Level 3 HACCP certification
  • 5 years of experience as a Chef in a full-service hotel operation
  • Hungry to succeed, multi-tasker, well organised and can perform under pressure
  • A hands-on approach to managing with effective leadership skills.
  • Passion for hospitality and possess the drive to constantly deliver top-class customer service
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • A demonstrable record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
