A fun family outing at Blackpool Zoo

Explore Blackpool

Looking for a fun family outing in Britain’s favourite seaside resort? Then visit Blackpool Zoo to experience an educational, yet fun day out for the whole family. It occupies 37 acres of traditional, spacious parkland and lakes and houses over 1500 animals from all over the world.

The resident animals come in all shapes and sizes, allowing you to learn all about the animal kingdom. As you head down to the Big Cat House, you will come face to face with fierce predators such as the Amur Tiger, Alyona and the father-and-son African lion duo, Wallace and Khari, before standing tall at Giraffe Heights.

Blackpool Zoo is home to the only family of gorillas in the North of England named Bukavu (the silverback), Miliki, Njema, and youngsters Meisie, Moanda and Makari. You can also see a herd of six elephants roaming in the Project Elephant Base camp. This area has been specially designed around the needs of the mammoth species featuring state of the art equipment and facilities, including the largest indoor area in the UK.
